Pushed all the changes I have been forgetting to for the last three weeks bruh.

• Adjusted font size to be in rem instead of pixels for better accessibility.
• Added a pic of da husbando (*dies of cringe*) to the about me page.
• Other small changes I already forgot about.. I’m a mess, as you can see

Also, I have just realized that the calendar heatmap doesn’t work properly. All the dates before March are wrongly set to the next day. It seems that it doesn’t take leap years into account but I dunno how to fix it.

This is going to be the last microblog as I do them now. I’ve decided to use this for site updates only and created a new journal page for personal stuff.

Remember when I said that I was going to make something Homestuck related for 4/13? And then didn’t finish in time and never posted it? Well, I’m still not posting it because I haven’t touched it again lol

What I did make and post was a new tool for calculating the score on each Aspect in the official Extended Zodiac test. The math was a pain in the ass and learning to use Chart.js was awful but it’s done.

I’ve added a new theme picker! Along with that, I’ve made 3 new themes, revamped the light theme and added a font picker as well! Now that I have a dedicated popup for the page settings I’ll start working on the gif enabling/disabling thing.

Here’s a list of the current themes:

• Andromeda: The default dark theme and the “true” theme. The site is built taking this theme in consideration first
• Ceres: The default light theme. Changed the colors a bit to make it purpler
• Orion: A dark red theme. It’s meant to look cool rather than being fully accessible, I just think it’s neat
• Eclipse: A higher contrast dark theme. No transparencies and no background to focus more on the content
• Nova: A higher contrast light theme. Same as above, not as high contrast because pure white burns my retinas

Oh and I didn’t post the Homestuck thing I was making on 4/13 lmao, I considered rushing it but eh, fuck it 💞

I’m a dumbass, I just discovered that typing markdown="1" markdownifies the content inside HTML tags, I’ve been typing list tags inside <details> instead of simply using markdown all this time like a dumbass 😭

Ok, that aside I messed a bit with the way post tags generate because they were appearing at a weird url but it doesn’t change anything. I wanted to be able to have tags sepparated with spaces but the list of tags ordered by quantity didn’t like that. Sooo nothing changed really

I started working yesterday on a log of videogames I’ve played, and while doing so I thought that I could probably revamp the interests section in my about page to make it look nicer. This probably means that I’ll get distracted and never do either of those things xd.

Yesterday they released Sky: COTL for Steam which means that I can now play without my phone exploding. Let’s hope I don’t become super obsessed with it now that my productivity is back. Also went to my first Aurora concert! It was so pretty :3

Tweemoji died UGH, apparently fuckass Musk fired everyone who was working on it and the CDN they used finally died last month. Thankfully I found this branch that keeps being supported by former Twitter employees (sauce) so I’ve switched to it.

I haven’t posted shit in a good while and I haven’t touched any code in this spring break but I’ve been working on some stuff. I got suddenly interested in classpects again (you know, the shit from fucking Homestuck [ewww] that’s like the MBTI but cooler), so I asked a friend (love u bitch <3) for all their classpecting docs and notes and started writing a page for that info. It’s not done yet, but I want to have it done by April 13th, on Homestuck day (cringe).

I’ve also been working on a shrine for FE4, I’m trying to make it look accurate and it’s been hell but it’s coming along so nicely, it’s not finished yet but I’m already so proud of it :D

Oh and I’ve added Tippy.js to show tooltips in mobile. The way I was doing it before only used CSS but it overflowed to the right in mobile, so this’ll fix it.

I needed to make my own poffin (those things from Pokémon DPPT) calculator for Reasons to use somewhere else (it’s a secret for now :3c), and since I already had the code I decided to include it in my site. I’ve only found one other properly functioning poffin calculator online so to add a twist for this one I decided to put everything in spanish, because translating the names of the berries is a pain in the ass.

Along with that I’ve moved the hex to percent calculator to a new page, the tools page, because I wanted each tool to have a description without having to go to their respective page and because if I stop being lazy they’d eventually flood the dropdown menu.

I’m currently cooking some stuff, one is a personal thing and the other is a resource though not coding related. They’re both cringe, don’t let me cook ever again 😔

Got my PC back :D

It was awful, at the end I had to open it and replace the hard drive myself. But it’s finally done :3

I’m very tired after having to reinstall everything so I couldn’t work much on the PHP thing, but I did finish making the new site button! At first I just wanted to remake the WIP I was working on before the PC died but I kept going and finished it lol

I’m not too sure about the border and for the background I originally wanted to use a purple and blue gradient but I couldn’t get it to look right, plus using a gradient increased the file size by 50%, so dark purple it is.

Oh, and completely unrelated but yesterday I went to watch Dune 2 and no spoilers but there’s a part where they show a planet that orbits a black sun, so under its light everything is in black and white. In the movie it looks so cool and from a worldbuilding perspective it fascinates me a lot, specially because indoors everything has color so it’s just the sunlight that makes everything B&W. I’m stealing that shit so hard

Welp, my main hard drive is definitely dead. I lost so many personal files.

Crying aside, I didn’t share what I wrote on the microblog I lost and it was pretty important news so I’m re-writting it here.

I moved to Leprd! Their Winter Wind plan had free slots (it doesn’t as of writting this) so I decided to join! The main reason why I wanted to move away from Github Pages is because I want to switch from Jekyll, a static site generator, to PHP. This should also help the site be lighter since it won’t have the same header saved in 200 different pages. I plan on using Twig as my templating engine since it looks very similar to Liquid but I haven’t looked much into it yet.

I can also have databases now, which is awesome since now I can host my own comments and style them however the hell I want! Fuck you, commentbox.io!

I also have a brand new domain! It’s nynasunner.space! I bought it with Porkbun, and it points to my site hosted on Leprd. The Github Pages site and url are still up right now, but they redirect to the new url. For now.

Oh, and in these PC-less days I’ve been working on two things. A webring for spanish speakers that’s still in the making, and a Pokémon roleplay group with a few friends, also in spanish lol. Tbh I would have been crying in despair over the whole PC situation for the whole week if I didn’t have rules and guides and designs to worry about.

Finally, for the code update, I’ve added a calendar heatmap to the microblogs page (this one!), I added it to a hidden page last week but I forgor 💀 to actually implement it. And I’ve changed the homepage to have a todo list instead of my latest posts, since I never post anything and having the same 2 sad old posts there for months was kinda sad ngl.

I had a microblog post and a few changes ready to commit and push yesterday morning but my PC bluescreened and died. The main hard drive is fried. I’ve been desperately trying to repair it but no matter what I change in the bios nothing can even detect the hard drive.

I didn’t lose everything, I have a second hard drive where I store most stuff, but everything on the users folder and the desktop is gone. My most personal folder was on the desktop. It had all my class notes there, my Obsidian vault, all my drawings and other Photoshop files, my friends’ D&D character sheets, my Discord bots, and everything I’ve ever coded.

I’m so extremely glad that I gathered my courage and published this site or else that’d be gone too. It might not seem like much but I really put a lot of heart and effort into it.

I’m taking the PC to a repairshop tomorrow after class. I don’t have much hope for recovering the hard drive but at least they’ll be able to replace it (it’s installed behind the graphics card and I don’t want to mess with it). The store where I ordered the PC closed so hopefully these new guys won’t steal my RAM or something.

The hard drive very likely got fried after the many power outages I had over the last week. I’m buying an UPS to keep my devices safe next time. I didn’t find many reviews for these and I don’t trust Amazon product reviews for shit so I might make a post for it after some months of use, idk.

At least I still have my laptop.

This is giving me migranies.

I should’ve written this yesterday but uhhh I forgor 💀

After reading this ACM article on seizure-inducing gifs online I’ve decided to add freezeframe.js, so potentially dangerous gifs will only display on hover (or on click on mobile). The biggest offensor is the “your mom” banner I have right at the top of my index page, and while it’s a placeholder for other banners (I had originally planed on making fake ads for my site but graphics design is not my passion) I’ve grown very attached to it, so I didn’t want to let it go

I’ve also revamped the microblogs page so I don’t need the pagination plugin (because since the pages were dynamic linking to a post would break eventually), which means that I can go back to posting my whole unbuilt code to Github and building from there, wooo! Which also means that I can post and edit stuff from my phone and other computers, wooohooo!!

The latter is specially cool because on monday I started a database admin course. It’s for complete beginners, so since I already have some knowledge I can kill time now at the beginning by being productive on my site

Oh, and there’s a Nintendo Direct tomorrow so I’m overdosing on hopium and getting my clown makeup ready for when they don’t announce the FE4 remake

Added a guestbook to the site and changed the comment widget from Disqus to HTML Comment Box. I wanted an alternative to Disqus for a while and I’m glad I found it. I also found Ayano’s comment widget, and though I like the idea of using Google docs I wanted a comment widget that allowed e-mail notifications.

I’ve found some really tempting hosting options, though. Will probably make my own comment widget with PHP if I move. God, I miss PHP

Also, yesterday I was about to catch my first Beakon in Palworld but the lights went out :(

Yesterday I spent the whole afternoon playing Palworld. Despite it being called “pokémon but with guns” it actually is “ARK but with pokémon”. And I haven’t even unlocked guns yet bruh

I haven’t played much ARK before, and my experiences with it are basically playing normally for a few hours and then a massive dinosaur spawn camps us while destroying the base so we have to start anew somewhere else, so I’m really thankful that Pals are naturally passive so it can’t happen to me here. Managing items and Pals is also a lot easier than in ARK in the good way. The plant monkeys are OP.

I unlocked a bunch of fast travel points but I couldn’t beat the first tower. Dodging is pretty tight with some attacks. I feel like this is one of the games that becomes insanely better with multiplayer but none of my friends have a good enough PC to run the game 😔

Oh and I’ve seen a lot of people accuse this game of stealing from Pokémon and the designs being AI generated. I don’t think they’re AI since a good portion of the designs were shown in the reveal trailer back in 2021 when AI still sucked ass. Just look at how Dall-e has advanced since 2022. It’s absurd how Pokémon fans have been accusing Palworld of being a ripoff as if the creature collecting and battling genre was copyrighted. And anything that does what Nintendon’t, or rather Game-Freakdon’t, and shows how lazy the new games are is a huge W imo.

For the code update I decided to move the theme toggler button to the navbar where it’s easier to access, renamed the “links” page to “resources” (since that’s what they really are even though it’s a link compilation), and moved the page update info to the footer where it truly belongs. Nothing big really.

Not much has happened but it’s been a while since I last wrote here so I wanted to lol

I’ve been collecting all the fanstranslated FE4 and FE5 stuff (as in mangas and novels) I could find, because some of these can only be found through twitter posts from a while ago and trying to find anything on twitter is absolutely fucking terrible. I’ll probably make a post about it soon and add more links as more stuff is translated or uncovered.

My tamagotchi died today at 22 (kinda fucked up of him to die at the age I currently have but ok) and taking care of it these days made me think of how simple this virtual pet is. So I want to try and make a tamagotchi from scratch on pure JS, using cookies to save progress between sessions. No clue when I’ll actually move my lazy ass to do it tho lmao

And to add yet another completely unrelated topic to the list, yesterday morning I saw this fanart of Nanna and Leif and I’ve been giggling and kicking and squealing like a teenager every time I think about it

We got a Thracia 776 banner in FEH… But at what cost…

Ok I’m really happy about this banner, actually. They’re not characters I particularly like a lot, I would’ve loved to get Fergus or Dean or Selfina, but they’re still characters I like and at this point I’ll take any drop of Thracia content (or Jugdral content in general) and drink it like a dying man in the desert. Besides, Tina seems really fun to use and since she’s such an obscure character and her gimmick fits her and only her it’s very unlikely she’ll get powercrept anytyme soon. I’ll definitely be pulling for her and building Perne as well. I need a break from building lance units bruh, sorry Arion

I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t use or like Reinhardt back then, he was easy to obtain and destroyed almost everything, but his days have been over for like two years now or maybe more. The meme was created organically and died organically as he stopped being relevant in the meta. So why is an unrecruitable character, a miniboss from a single chapter in Thracia 776, once again getting more alts than the main character? A main character who is in TWO Fire Emblem games?

Happy (belated) new year!

Honestly, the end of the year made me realize how I haven’t done jack shit in 2023. Everything is nearly the same. But hey, at least nothing is worse than how it was a year ago. That might not feel like much right now but it’s something.

Sorry for the gloomy thoughts. I’ve been feeling very unmotivated for anything lately, so much that even playing feels like a chore. I’m installing some new instrument plugins for FL Studio as I type this so hopefully finally having a mellotron to make cool music will cheer me up. That thing has such a cool noise <3

Oh and I discovered how Minecraft datapacks work! I can’t believe I’ve been playing on Aternos servers crying about not having plugins when datapacks have existed this whole time. I owe them my life

I’ve been playing a bit of Pixelmon and a lot of Cobblemon this past week, though the seed of the Cobblemon server is super cursed so there’s nothing but ice and powder snow. God, how I hate powder snow. The snow is snowier than before.

Though some pokémon don’t look good in the cubic style I really like how Cobblemon looks. It’s definitely very new since some pokémon like eiscue drop four items on death and some drop nothing, the dex is very incomplete, berries barely have any use, etc. But it’s still very promising. A friend added a breeding mod and we managed to get mons with better natures and hidden abilities, though we’ve had no luck with shinies yet.

We added Terralith in the Cobblemon server since we had Biomes O’ Plenty in the Pixelmon one but it turned out to be a massive mistake since finding different biomes now is super hard, resulting in not seeing many different pokémon and making traveling a pain in the ass since Cobblemon doesn’t have riding like Pixelmon does, resulting in us having to trudge through the fucking powder snow.

Did I already mention that I hate powder snow?

I tried installing the Wicked Whims mod for the Sims 4 and bro even with a thousand custom animations and shit it’s so goofy, how can anyone watch these things moaning “shaloob” and think it’s hot?

That aside I’m once again having the problem of not making my sims leave the house because travelling between lots without the open world TS3 had is a hassle. I hate not being able to manage the rest of my sims while I have one away doing whatever. Specially because their needs get messed up so the sim that was away is tired at midnight like usual but the others have half energy so now I have to fix their sleep schedule. If only the Sims 3 didn’t have so many optimization issues

I didn’t add the tabs bruh but I don’t need them anymore. Reworked the about me page a bunch of times last week and yesterday I decided that I preferred using AnchorJS for, you guessed it, the heading anchors

Finally got my Bluesky invite code, I still don’t like microblogging-based social media but hey, at least it’s not twitter. The feeds feature is still unpolished imo but it’s good, and it’s supposedly going federated soon, so even if I end up hating the ex-twitterdude’s guts I can still see the stuff there from Mastodon. The mobile app sucks cocks and balls tho

Turns out that I actually did have many more chances of playing Lethal Company so I did finally buy it for real! I’ve practically done nothing but play it in the evenings lmao, and even played it with my irl friends. Worth

On sunday I played Lethal Company with the bros. Played only one hour and refunded it because I’ll barely have any chances of playing with them again and I’m poor asf. Still, it was fun and the game is really good so I’d buy it again in a heartbeat if I were able to play more. El vale se la come

I wish the bestiary was better tho, Sigurd’s “non sense” is funny but I ended up relying more on guides for facing things like the bees

Also uhhh I did this days ago but I re-added the links section and put some Gintama resources there. MadaoBlooms asked me to put him in and I really want to but I’m still not sure where. Might do an honorary mentions thing, Mr. Blooms really deserves it

Finally added light mode to the site, though it’s ugly as hell and I don’t like it. It’s my first time making a light theme (because I hate them), so hopefully I’ll get better at it over time and make it decent

On another note, it’s only midday and I’m already ranting with strangers online about how Quan isn’t a bad father and for the love of god stop saying he wanted to bring his 4 year old daughter to war when NO HE FUCKING DIDN’T! I’m considering making a post about this here so I don’t have to repeat myself over multiple platforms

Crying and sobbing and shitting aside, I almost forgot to mention that I have a temporary button now. I made it two days ago on photoshop in like 5 minutes, because I just wanted a simple placeholder until I make or commision a decent one

At the end I ended up changing it a bunch of times. The background and font were ugly as hell so I got new ones, added a text shadow, modified the text some more because I didn’t like how tall the capital letters were, and added a second frame to show the URL. It’s still ugly as hell, though
